Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies/European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. She holds a PhD in Law and a master degree in International, Comparative and European Law from the European University Institute (EUI). She also holds a master degree in Public Health from the Brazilian School of Public Health (ENSP/FIOCRUZ). In the last 10 years she has undertaken research in the fields of health and law from the perspectives of consumer protection law, human rights, judicial enforcement of socio-economic rights, and organisation and delivery of health care services. Her publications include peer reviewed articles, book chapters and a recent monograph entitled “EU Health Systems and Distributive Justice Towards New Paradigms for the Provision of Health Care Services?” (Routledge, 2016).
