Nina Sahraoui is Research Associate at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute within the project EU Border Care led by Vanessa Grotti on the politics of maternity care among undocumented migrants on the EU’s peripheries.
Nina received her PhD at London Metropolitan University after having completed a three-year Marie Curie fellowship. Her doctoral research focused on a gendered political economy analysis of the articulation of migration, care and employment regimes through the study of migrant workers’ experiences in old-age care in London, Paris and Madrid. Particularly interested in the use of visuals, Nina worked on several short films with research participants.
After completing a Masters in International Affairs at Sciences Po in Paris, Nina worked for two years as Project Officer in the Rabat School of Governance and Economics in Morocco. Previously, Nina conducted research on diasporic identities, transnational mobilization and the ‘migration/development’ nexus, notably in relation to the Moroccan case.
